Summer Camp
PK-5

For Parents and Guardians:

The Education Service Center, Region 2 is pleased and excited to offer brand new Summer Camp opportunities (go to: http://www.escweb.net/tx_r2/catalog/conference.aspx?conference_id=1212483) for your children in Grades PK-5 at the amazing Early Scholars Academy. Completed in early 2011, the Early Scholars Academy has now welcomed thousands of South Texas children through its doors.

The Early Scholars Academy (ESA) combines an innovative design with hands-on, interactive learning activities in nine themed discovery centers, some of which are pictured in the attached brochure. While the ESA was mainly designed to focus on early childhood, older students up to Grade 5 will also find plenty to explore and get excited about. The nine discovery centers focus on these themes: Animals, Plants, Ocean, Polar, Tropics, Wonderful Amazing Me, Space, Earth, and My Community.

Each of the 23 ESA Summer Camp sessions are designed for specific grade levels and range from three to five days in length. Each Summer Camp focuses on a special area of learning; including drama, literacy, art, science, healthy life styles, Spanish, and math. These Summer Camps have been designed and will be led by certified teachers or early childhood specialists; all instructors are staff members of the Education Service Center, Region 2.

Please consider registering your child(ren) for one or more of these unique summer learning activities. If you have any questions or need additional information, please let us know. Contact any of the following staff members for more information: Karen Turner, 361-561-8424; Dr. Linda Villarreal, 361-561-8404; or Susan Webb, 361-561-8531.

We look forward to providing your child with an exceptional experience this summer at the Early Scholars Academy!
